Stephen Jackson Wants to Be Dealt

Stephen Jackson Wants to Be Dealt

Can you blame him?

The Warriors’ season up to this point has been an absolute disaster. Their best (and most expensive) player was lost to a freak accident before the first jump-ball, and it has all gone downhill from there, culminating in an ugly 8-22 record.

And now, Stephen Jackson (who recently signed an extension with the team) reportedly wants out of this mess.

Jackson, according to several sources, recently told teammates he’d happily accept being sent elsewhere.

However bad it looks at 8-22, it’s way worse behind the scenes. According to sources, Jackson, Nelson’s staunchest ally in the locker room, was called into Nelson’s car when he showed up for the team’s shootaround before facing Orlando. Nelson apparently told Jackson he was playing poorly and Jackson, who had been fighting through injuries to stay on the court, was so upset he skipped the shootaround. Jackson denied any lingering conflict, but he has since decided not to play until his injuries heal.

The article, written by Ric Bucher and his shiny hair, goes on to claim that a few of Jackson’s teammates are also looking to jump ship - namely, Marcus Williams and Corey Maggette. Also, don’t forget that Don Nelson doesn’t seem all that jazzed to show up to work everyday anymore.
Is it just me, or do the 2007 Playoffs seem like they took place 100 years ago?

D.WADE GOES FOR 35 PTS AND A WIN AGAINST KB24 AND THE LAKERS

Dwyane Wade got his offensive touch back. More importantly, the Miami Heat brought a level of defense that the Los Angeles Lakers simply hadn't seen this season.

Wade scored 35 points, including a desperation 3-pointer to close the third quarter, and the Heat held the Lakers to their lowest scoring total this season in knocking off the reigning Western Conference champions 89-87 on Friday night.

Kobe Bryant scored 28 points for the Lakers (21-4)

Three hundred plus kids will pack into Gustine Lake's gymnasium this Saturday(Dec.20th) to participate in this installment of Converse’s Philly Run. So come out and enjoy this event.

DAMN.....The celtics are closing in on MJ and the bulls record.....oh baby its 17th straight and counting

Bulls the next victims of the celtics!

Throughout their winning streak, the Celtics have seen a handful of different players assume a starring role. On Friday, it was Kendrick Perkins' turn.

Perkins surpassed his previous career high in the third quarter and finished with 25 points as the Celtics outclassed the visiting Chicago Bulls, 126-108, for their 17th straight win, one shy of the team record set in the 1981-82 season.

It may have been cold and snowing outside, but it was scorching inside TD Banknorth Garden. Perkins was 12-of-15 from the floor as Boston shot a blistering 59.5 percent and established season highs in points and assists (40).

Ray Allen scored 27 points and Rajon Rondo handed out 15 assists for the Celtics, who can tie the record Sunday vs. New York.

DAMN JUST TRADE THIS GUY ALREADY AND MAKE ROOM FOR SEAN SINGLETARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Raymond Felton to Golden State?

These Raymond Felton trade rumors simply refuse to go away. And this time, his hometown paper has a possible destination for the soon-to-be (restricted) free agent guard.
Don Nelson and the Golden State Warriors reportedly wants to get their hands on the twenty-four year old.

The Warriors and Bobcats have had discussions about Felton, an NBA source told the Observer, and the Warriors appear open to giving up either Randolph or Wright to make a deal work.
Bobcats general manager Rod Higgins would neither confirm, nor deny, talks with the Warriors involving Felton. Higgins came to the Bobcats two years ago from a similar role with the Warriors.

The ‘Cats are (understandably) enamored with rookie D.J. Augustin, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that they want to get rid of Felton.

I want this trade to happen, if only for the slight chance that Michael Jordan and Brandan Wright would, at last, settle their “beef” on the court.

THE SIXERS FINALLY CAME TO THEIR SENSES!!!!

Mo Cheeks is rollin out playa.....SIXERS GAVE HIM THE BOOT !

THANK GOD CHRISTMAS CAME EARLY THIS AFTERNOON!!!!!!!!

Owls Shock No. 8 Volunteers, 88-72
Christmas scores season-high 35 points in upset win.

Dionte Christmas scored a season-high 35 points and hit three straight 3-pointers during a game-changing stretch that helped Temple upset No. 8 Tennessee 88-72 on Saturday.
Temple students dressed in Santa Claus hats and held signs that read "Merry Christmas!" to cheer on the Owls' best player. Then they stormed the court in a wild celebration for coach Fran Dunphy's biggest win in three seasons.

Christmas delivered with a sensational second half when he hit six of his seven 3-pointers for the Owls (5-3).

Tennessee (6-2) never led in the game, but cut the deficit to four midway through the second half. Christmas then hit three 3s that stretched the lead to 15 points.

Sergio Olmos scored a career-high 19 points, including two baskets during Temple's 8-0 run to start the game, while Ryan Brooks had 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Tyler Smith led the Volunteers with 17 points and Bobby Maze had 15.

The Volunteers were just the sixth top-10 team to play at the Liacouras Center since 1997 and left to chants of "Overrated!" from the raucous crowd. Tennessee's only other loss came to then-No. 9 Gonzaga in November.

The Owls raised a banner before the game celebrating their A-10 tournament championship, then went out and scored the first eight points. Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl called a quick timeout to calm his team and they would tie the score at 15 before falling behind for good.
Christmas, a 6-foot-5 guard with a knack for explosive games, kept the upset hopes alive with a 3 to start the second half. He also scored the next six points to stick Temple's lead at 14. Christmas went 7-for-14 from 3-point range and 12-of-22 from the field.

Then came the big run. The 38 percent 3-point shooter buried 3 in a row during a 17-6 run that also saw him hit a free throw when Pearl was whistled for a technical. The normally staid arena was almost filled to the rafters and got about as loud as its ever been when Christmas hit the third 3.

The Volunteers had nothing left. Christmas hit 3-pointers Nos. 6 and 7 and made it 82-59.
All Pearl and his players could do was listen to those derisive chants.

The Owls knocked off a top 10 team for the first time since former coach John Chaney led them to a win over No. 6 George Washington in the 2006 Atlantic 10 tournament. He retired at the end of that season and Dunphy left Penn to succeed him. Dunphy got the Owls into the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2001 last season and now has a win he hopes can build to another tourney bid.

Converse Aero Jam “Grandmama”....lol!!!

After the era of Larry Bird and Magic Johnson ended in 1992, Converse looked to their roster of NBA players and selected the young, powerful, and promising 1992 Rookie of the Year Larry Johnson for a premier signature line.

The first shoe of two signatures LJ wore for Converse was the Converse Aero Jam. Thanks in large part to the advertising campaign that promoted the shoes, LJ and his shoes quickly earned the nickname “Grandmama.” LJ even took this a step further when he appeared on the family sitcom Family Matters as “Grandmama.”

The Converse Aero Jam featured the cushioning and support system REACT juice in the heel and around the back of the ankle providing just what the 6′7″ 240lbs. Power Forward needed on court. Besides the tech, the shoes featured some attractive details such as a fading splattered midsole, textured heel midsole, and fading colors on the removable cover. Featuring LJ’s jersey number on the front of the shoe as well as the Hornets colors there was no mistaking these shoes to be anything but the “Grandmama’s”.

The Converse Aero Jam was retroed before in 2003 celebrating its 10th anniversary, but this all took place before Nike acquired the suffering brand. The shoes returned in three colorways, but none matched any of the originals as well as no REACT juice. Converse, now that you are with the master of retros, please have this shoe return!

Bonzi Wells leaves to NBA to collect that overseas check!

Bonzi Wells Signs To Play In China
Xinhua, China’s official governmental press agency, is reporting that Bonzi Wells signed a one-year contract worth roughly $40,000 to play for Shanxi Zhongyu of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Ray Felton Could Be The Next Bobcat To Go....That a GREAT look for my main man Sean Singletary!!!! LOL

A few weeks ago, Mutoni mentioned that “MJ is looking to make a big trade, one that would dramatically alter the look of the Charlotte Bobcats.”

As usual, Mutoni proved to be on point, but not entirely in the way the rumors predicted (pundits thought Gerald Wallace would be first on the trade block).

After this week’s trade, the Bobcats’ needs are different. As it stands now, Raymond Felton, D.J. Augustin and Raja Bell will fight for minutes in the Bobcats’ backcourt. The Arizona Republic’s Paul Coro says trading Felton makes sense:

Charlotte insisted on (Sean Singletary) being in the trade even though the Bobcats have Raymond Felton and D.J. Augustin. It has been rumored that Felton could be on the trading block and this will only fuel that more.

The Cats don’t seem comfortable with Felton playing off the ball, and it’s obvious Larry Brown wants his offense run solely by his 21-year-old rookie phenom.
Felton seems like the odd man out because he’s not the go-to scorer the team needs.

Check out Dionte "D-Nice" Christmas and the Temple owls take on the vols tomorrow @ Noon on ESPN

Temple plays host to #8/8 Tennessee Saturday in a nationally-televised contest (ESPN, Noon). The Volunteers (6-1) will be just the sixth Top 10 team to play at the Liacouras Center since the building opened on December 9, 1997. The owls own a 2-3 record against Top 10 foes in the arena with the last meeting being a 67-64 setback to #5 Wake Forest on December 13, 2004. Temple will also be collecting canned goods at the game in support of Philabundance.

The Owls (4-3), fresh off a 65-59 win at Penn State, boast one of the nation's top players in All-America candidate Dionte Christmas. The 6-5 senior guard, who leads the team and ranks second in the Atlantic 10 Conference with a 19.0 scoring average. Limited to his lowest output (2 pts) at Penn State since his freshman season, Christmas is looking to become the first player in A-10 history to win three consecutive league scoring titles.

Third-year head coach Fran Dunphy has surrounded his star with a strong supporting cast led by sophomore forward Lavoy Allen and junior guard Ryan Brooks. Allen, who is playing with a fractured left thumb, averages 10.0 points and a team-high 8.3 rebounds while Brooks, the Owls' top perimeter defender, is second on the team with a 13.1 scoring average.
Senior Sergio Olmos (10.7 ppg.,.571 fg%) and Semaj Inge (9.9 ppg., 32 assists) round out a balanced starting five. Junior guard Luis Guzman (2.9 ppg., 31 assists) and freshman guard Ramone Moore (7.3 ppg.) provide depth off the bench.

Junior Tyler Smith (17.4 ppg., 5.9 rpg.) leads the high-octane Tennessee offense that averages 87.1 points per game. A Wooden Award candidate, the 6-7 forward became the first player in the 100-year history of UT basketball to record a triple-double, accomplishing the feat with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the team's last game, an 87-69 win over UNC-Asheville.
Head coach Bruce Pearl's squad sports four double-figure scorers in junior forward J.P. Prince (11.3 ppg.), freshman forward Cameron Tatum (10.7 ppg.) and junior forward Wayne Chism (10.0 ppg,). Junior guard Bobby Maze (8.4 ppg., 5.1 apg.) runs the Vols offense.

Tennessee leads the all-time series, 3-2, winning 80-63 in the 2007-08 season opener in Knoxville (Nov. 19). The previous meeting was a pre-shot clock, 11-6 Volunteer win, also in Knoxville, on Dec. 15, 1973.
